Road wheel construction method for high speed.
The rim is rolled from 50mmx5mm flat bar and flange is 5mm 100x100mm flat bar,the arc welding is very hard for machining
All other rims will be mig welded for better machining OD of rim is 112mm and pvc tyre tube ID is 110mm .
I machined 3 grooves 10mm wide by 1.5mm deep and drilled 15 holes of 8mm

Using the gas torch heated the inside of rim until the plastic in contact with rim start to melt,
using a spanner closed the collars until the plastic start coming out of the holes like tooth paste
using a spanner closed the collars until the plastic start coming out of the holes like tooth paste
After cooling down removed the collars living a groove of 5mm all round that is
OK since I machined the wheel down to OD 140mm
The above process give me good resold s but very time consuming and very critical on heating the tyre with heat gun.
Under-heat and collars will not pull the tyre to ingect through the rim holes Over-heat and collars will sink in to the tyre.
Next to try is the home oven low temp 120 C until soft then fit over the rims(by the way my wife is NOT very pleased with this idea)
